August 15-16, 2019 Defining Your Leadership Brand (two days)

Cultivate your leadership style and build a community with the ALI cohort during this in-depth, two-day retreat. In this session you will identify your preferred leadership style - including strengths and challenge areas - and learn how leverage the strengths and challenges of others. The concept of “leading in place” will be a focus, and you will have the opportunity to delve deeply into understanding yourself and others by engaging with a variety of assessment profile tools and working through a case study.

Strategic Planning in Higher Education (all day)

This session will focus on developing a framework for a strategic plan within UA. You will have the opportunity to analyze the current UA culture and readiness to change, identify change initiatives, conduct a stakeholder analysis, and develop a plan to cultivate a coalition and reduce resistance. 

October 25, 2019 Leadership in Action Workshop (morning)

Network with leadership from across campus to discuss topics crucial to UA’s growth, such as university finances, communication strategies, and policy.

November 15, 2019 Solving Problems Through Design Thinking (all day)

Learn the power of design thinking to create innovative solutions! In this session, you will learn about the problem-solving process, biases that impact our ability to make quality decisions, and pathways to solve complex organizational problems.  

January 24, 2020 Leadership in Action Workshop (morning)

Network with leadership from across campus to discuss topics crucial to UA’s growth, such as university finances, communication strategies, and policy.

February 28, 2020 Engaging Others (all day)

Building on your newly enhanced skillset of leadership style-flexing, emotional intelligence, bias awareness, and change management, you will now focus on the heart of leadership: attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining high-quality and diverse team members. .

March 27, 2020 Leadership in Action Workshop (morning)

Network with leadership from across campus to discuss topics crucial to UA’s growth, such as university finances, communication strategies, and policy.

April 24, 2020 Organizational Effectiveness (all day)

In this final session, you will build on the skills you have acquired to assess and improve organizational effectiveness, as well as manage long-term projects and initiatives.
